Qadian-Beas Railway Line Project Revived

The Union Ministry of Railways has officially revived the historic Qadian–Beas New Railway Line Project in Punjab, nearly a century after it was first approved during the British era.

The 39.68-km-long broad-gauge corridor will be executed by the Northern Railway zone at an estimated cost of ₹1,400 crore. The rail line connects Qadian in Gurdaspur district with Beas in Amritsar district, passing through key towns in the Majha region, including Dhapai, Ghuman, Butala, and Sathiala.
