News:

The 13.153 km Zojila Tunnel, the world’s longest single‑tube bi‑directional road tunnel at the highest altitude. 

The Zojila Pass is situated at an extraordinary altitude of approximately 11,578 feet (3,528 meters) on the National Highway 1 (NH 1) connecting Srinagar to Leh.

It is located in the Zojila region between Baltal and Meenamarg in the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.

It connects to the main highway via an approach road that includes Z-Morh Tunnel (a 6.5 km tunnel located near Sonamarg).

Total project length, including tunnel roads and bridges: 30.894 km.

 

National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) is the nodal executing agency responsible for building the strategic Zojila Tunnel Project.
