The National Council for Transgender Persons (NCTP) is India's apex statutory advisory body established to protect the rights, welfare, and interests of the transgender community. It ensures that government policies are inclusive and that transgender individuals can live with dignity.
The NCTP is a statutory body. It was officially set up by the Central Government under the powers granted by Section 16 of the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Act, 2019.


It operates directly under the administrative control of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.
Headquarters: New Delhi.
