The State of Global Air is a collaboration between the Health Effects Institute and the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation’s Global Burden of Disease project.

This State of Global Air report presents the latest comprehensive estimates of exposures to fine particulate matter (PM2 .5), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), and ozone and their impacts on human health around the world.

Nitrogen dioxide (NO2) is a gaseous air pollutant that is mainly generated through the burning of fuel in vehicles, power plants, and industrial facilities.
